Shostakovich symphony no. 5

Here's what Schostakovich had to say about the peice himself: "I think that it is clear to everyone what happens in the Fifth . . . It's as if someone were beating you with a stick and saying, 'Your businness is rejoicing, your business is rejoicing' and you rise, shakily, and go off muttering, 'Our business is rejoicing, our business is rejoicing'."

Listen to any of Shostakovich's 15 symphonies and tell me that there isn't some brutal stuff in there. And the quote is legit.
