Three Things...

1. Enlisting volunteers: a friend an I are planning a hike up Lone Peak on Saturday, July 8th weather permitting. This has been a goal of mine for some time. We would like to invite any that would like to join us, understanding that it will be quite a difficult hike. We plan to start up the trailhead at 4:30am, which would put us at the peak mid- to late morning, and we're planning to be back at the trailhead at the latest 6pm, just in time to catch the LoveRunner concert that has no start time. If you think you would like to join us, let me know.
2. Lone peak has an altitude of 11,253'
3. Ummm... my cats' breath smells like cat food.

Berfday! Update!!

So we moved the party from Allison's house to my house for reason's having to do with arithmetic food increases versus geometric population growth. I mean there will be lots of people.

so...

Party
Tonight!
1249 East Roosevelt Ave. (1440 South)
7:00 pm (or earlier. or later.)
This is a BBBQ. The extra B is for BYOBB.
Activities may or may not include:
Joke-e-oke
Lawn Bowling
Screening of Rubin and Ed.

Please forgive my extended absence followed by three postings of shameless self-promotion. I'll get back to finding creepy pictures of Jeff Goldblum soon.

Cost of electricity: I don't know. It's automatically deducted, via the internet, from my checking account.
High speed cable internet: I don't know. It's automatically deducted, via the internet, from my checking account.
Cost of modem rental: I don't know. It's automatically deducted, via the internet, from my checking account.
Ability to find whatever picture you want: Priceless.

What awaits Spencer's return?

I thought of a fun game we could play. We could make predictions as to how the world will have changed in the next two years before our new Elder returns from his mission.

Maybe it's a common thing in Utah, and now you are all laughing at me at how totally lame and mundane this is, but I didn't grow up in Utah or in the Church, and I just thought it up all by myself, so there. :P

Anyway, I'll start (and since I'm a geek, my comments will tend towards the geek end of the spectrum -- sue me):

  • Microsoft announces it's for-real, honest-to-goodness launch date for Windows Vista, just in time for Christmas 2008.
  • After seeing their music and video game divisions go bankrupt, Sony executives reflect that maybe wearing pants wasn't so bad after all. reference -- language warning
  • In an effort to stop the spread of viruses, liberal Democrats will pass a bill making email illegal for moms and offshore casinos.

...and just as quickly he tied up his knapp sack, polished his favorite head band and mosied into the dusty dusk with his best burro.

In the words of a young Jerry Garcia, not yet made immortal by Ben and his conspirer Jerry, "what a long strange trip its been". When you hear the chime turn the page errrr the link... chinnana!

I think my favorite line in this is: Until now eight species of animals were found in the cave, all of them unknown to science.

Unknown to science like it were a person.

Thank you Science.
